Easily create simplified collision boxes for your objects in blender.

This addon enables the creation of collision boxes for your complex models in blender, without subdividing meshes.

To create the mesh select the object you want to generate the collision box for and select Add Menu (Shift+A) >Mesh > Create Collision Mesh. Apply the rotation and scale to the object before creating the collision mesh in order to get predictable outcomes.

(View3D > Add > Mesh > Create Collision Mesh)

It generates bounding boxes around the vertices and joins them together along an axis. The number of generated bounding boxes can be modified to suit your needs.

The default values will generate a bounding box around your object and parent the new object to your selected model, adding the -colonly suffix (Ready to be exported to the Godot Game Engine). The parenting and suffix can be modified to suit your needs.

Update 1.2: multiple segment boxes can be forced to be convex
